Throughout our history, Stephenson Nursing Center has made every effort to provide the highest quality nursing care and skilled therapy to our residents. Because we are a nonprofit, we can care for a variety of needs, regardless of the financial situation of the resident, we put no limit on the number of residents who are receiving public aid.

This means that your loved one will not be just a number to our caregivers. The longevity of staff members guarantees that continuity of care is given to our residents. ​Stephenson Nursing Center is a not-for-profit long-term care facility owned and operated by the people of Stephenson County since 1854.

The center is licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health for skilled and intermediate levels of care, and is certified for Medicaid, Medicare, Private, and Hospice.

Stephenson Nursing Center is located south of Freeport in the rural setting of the original county farm.

 We strive to provide an environment as home-like as possible and offer care and services to maintain each individual at their highest level of functioning. We strive to meet each resident’s individual physical, mental, and psychosocial needs.
